What We Do

The HVAC Mechanic Team installs, maintains and repairs heating and cooling equipment throughout campus and extension buildings. In accordance with State and Federal mandates, HVAC Mechanics are both EPA and RMGA certified to work on these systems.

Day to day operations are focused on the Central Plants which generate hydronic sourced heating and cooling to each building.

Utilizing UVU's work order program, the team responds to system deviations and mechanical breakdowns which might present as overly warm or cool spaces.  Repairs are then made to restore temperatures. The work order is completed with notes included and returned to the originator.

In addition to repairs, the HVAC Mechanic Team also installs new heating and cooling equipment as needs arise to meet campus growth.

HVAC Costs & Billing

The Central Plant HVAC department is state funded to maintain and operate campus facilities as originally constructed and will perform routine maintenance at their own expense. The Central Plant HVAC team may provide work beyond the scope of routine maintenance at the expense of the requesting department and pending approval.

Campus Services bills monthly for services performed through Service Requests and for any work orders that are completed for services outside of routine maintenance services.

NOTE: A Service Request form must be submitted for all work that is considered a billable service.
