How We Collaborate with the Knowledge and Scientific Network (KSN)
KSN local 300

The UNESCO Chair at Utah Valley University is proud to partner with the Knowledge and Scientific Network (KSN)—a global initiative launched by the UN Local2030 Coalition to connect research, policy, and community action for local sustainable development.

KSN empowers young researchers and universities to co-create solutions with local communities that are grounded in science and aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By sharing research, offering training, and building networks, KSN helps bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world needs.

Our Chair contributes to KSN by:

  • Engaging in pilot research projects that address environmental challenges such as water quality and climate resilience in Peru and beyond.
  • Connecting students and faculty with communities and policymakers, turning research into local impact.
  • Participating in global forums and innovation labs, which promote best practices for SDG localization.
  • Building research capacity through interdisciplinary teams, mentorships, and knowledge exchange.

Together with KSN, we are helping shape a future where evidence-based solutions and inclusive collaboration drive real progress—locally and globally.
