Learn About Distinction Cords

Program distinction cords visually represent a specific distinction affiliated with a UVU student organization, student program, chapter, or other distinction, collectively referred to as a program.

Cord colors correlate with specific program distinction types. Cords are usually doubled, meaning two cords are tied together mid-cord by a knot.

Ceremony-eligible graduates who have officially participated in one or more of the following programs can receive a program distinction cord from their program. Please check with your UVU program coordinator to see if you must meet additional criteria to receive a cord.
