Utah Valley University is committed to providing a safe, welcoming environment for all graduates and guests attending commencement and college and school ceremonies at the UCCU Center. To support this effort, enhanced security measures will be in place for all ceremonies.
Security screening may take additional time, so please plan accordingly.
Commencement
Graduates will gather at the Fugal Gateway Building by 6 pm for the processional. Toward the end of the processional and before entering the UCCU Center arena, all graduates will pass through a security screening, including a metal detector. Graduates are encouraged to bring only essential items that can be carried by hand, without a bag. Any graduates who choose not to participate in the processional need to enter as a guest and will not be permitted to sit with the other graduates.
College and School Ceremonies
Graduates should enter through the ticket office located on the west side of the UCCU Center. All graduates will pass through a security checkpoint before entering the arena. Ceremony start times and recommended graduate arrival times can be found on the College and School Ceremonies page. Ceremonies will begin promptly at their scheduled start times, so please plan your arrival times accordingly.
All guests will enter through a single designated entrance on the northwest side of the UCCU Center. All other entrances will be closed. Every guest will pass through a security checkpoint before entering the arena.
The UCCU Center follows a no-bag or clear-bag policy to support efficient entry and enhanced safety. Permitted bags include clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC bags not exceeding 12" x 6" x 12", or a clear one-gallon resealable plastic bag (one per person). A logo is permitted on one side of a clear bag, not exceeding 4.5" x 3.4".
Small clutch bags (with or without a strap) measuring 4.5" x 5.6" or smaller are also allowed.
Exceptions will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at designated areas. All permitted bags are subject to search, and the UCCU Center reserves the right to inspect or prohibit any items to ensure the safety of all attendees. Guests are encouraged to review venue guidelines in advance and plan accordingly.
Commencement
All commencement guests should be in their seats by 7 pm to ensure they can see the graduate processional that ends in the UCCU Center around 7:30 pm. As parking and security screenings may take additional time, please plan your arrival time accordingly.
College and School Ceremonies
All ceremony start times and recommended graduate arrival times can be found on the College and School Ceremonies page. Ceremonies will begin promptly at their scheduled start times, and parking and security screenings may take additional time, so please plan your arrival times accordingly.
Guests and graduates can park in any legal parking space on campus for free on the days of commencement and the school and college ceremonies. Any cars parked illegally will be ticketed.

UVU encourages the attendance of family, friends, and other loved ones who want to see their Wolverine graduate! Watch the dress code video to get familiar with UVU’s graduation guest code of conduct.
Because this unique experience is one of the core memories you’ll have of your UVU graduation, we ask that you wear more formal attire like suits, dresses, skirts, and slacks under your graduation gown. We love to see our Wolverines looking and feeling their best!
Please avoid clothing that could potentially distract other guests or diminish the ability of other guests to enjoy the event.

Note: Utah Valley University and the UCCU Center reserve the right to inspect all items brought into campus facilities. Guests who refuse to consent to searches will be denied entry into the arena or other parts of campus.
Be sure to wear your cap and gown and other approved regalia!
Bring yourselves and your Wolverine spirit to cheer on your grad!
