Convocation Itineraries

College of Humanities and Social Sciences

*Please remember you and your guests will be entering through security checks. Please bring only essential items with you and follow the clear bag policy.

11 AM Session

Departments included: English Anthropology, Sociology, Family Science, Social Work, and Communications

Processional Lineup

10:15 am: Plan to arrive dressed in your cap and gown. Please enter the UCCU Center on the west side, ground level.

 

Guest Seating

Doors open 60 minutes prior to your ceremony. Your friends and family should be in their seats by 10:50 am to ensure they see the graduate processional enter the arena.

 

College Ceremony

*Approximately 75-90 minutes

11 am

Processional: Graduates and faculty enter the UCCU Center arena and proceed to their seats.

Program: Dean Steven Clark and other speakers address the graduating class.

Name Reading: Each graduate’s name and the degree are displayed and announced as they walk across the stage to receive their diploma cover. Graduates then return to their seats until all graduates’ names have been read.

Please plan to stay for the entire ceremony. Leaving early is disruptive and disrespectful to those awaiting their moment.

2 PM Session

Departments included: Psychology, Philosophy, Humanities, Languages, History, Political Science, and Institute

1:15 pm: Plan to arrive dressed in your cap and gown. Please enter the UCCU Center on the west side, ground level.
