The Innovation Academy Experience Fellowship Program provides students with the opportunity to develop durable skills and professional confidence through meaningful engagement with Innovation Academy programs and initiatives.

About:

This year-long, scholarship-supported fellowship is designed for motivated undergraduate students who want to deepen their learning beyond coursework and engage in high-impact, hands-on experiences that connect academic learning with Innovation Academy programs and initiatives.

As a Fellow, you’ll engage alongside Innovation Academy staff and campus partners on meaningful initiatives—developing durable skills you’ll carry into any career while building relationships that support your academic and professional goals.

This program is open to students from all majors and disciplines. What matters most is your curiosity, commitment, and desire to connect learning with impact.

    Selected Fellows receive partial or full tuition waivers to support students in completing this experience.

    Develop meaningful relationships with Innovation Academy staff, campus partners, and fellow students who are invested in your growth and success.

  • Strengthen your portfolio

    Create projects, reflections, and artifacts that help you clearly articulate your skills, strengths, and experiences in future applications, interviews, and professional conversations.

Fellow Expectations:

As a Fellow, you are expected to:

  • Commit up to 365 total hours of fellowship engagement across the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters.

  • Attend mandatory, consistent, weekly in - person office hours. Each semester, you’ll choose one of the following options:

    • Tuesdays from 1:00pm - 3:00pm or 2:00pm - 4:00pm
    • Wednesdays from 1:00pm - 3:00pm or 2:00pm - 4:00pm
  • Engage in monthly cohort workshops and trainings.

  • Complete monthly check-ins and an end-of-fellowship reflection.

Application Requirements

All majors and disciplines are welcome to apply.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be enrolled in and complete 12 UVU credit hours each semester.
  • Maintain a minimum 2.75 GPA and be in good standing with Utah Valley University.
  • Submit a completed application, including an essay and short video presentation.
  • Complete necessary information in Scholarship Universe by the stated deadline.

Successful candidates are curious, open to learning, and willing to be challenged. They desire development in collaborating with others, thinking critically and strategically, managing their time and commitments well, and demonstrating a strong commitment to their selected Innovation Academy fellowship experience.

Experience with Innovation Academy programs is not required but is considered a plus.

Engage in experiences that support the internal operations of Innovation Academy programs. Fellows in this area develop organizational, collaboration, and professional communication skills while contributing to the overall success of Innovation Academy initiatives.

Engage in experiences that support Innovation Academy programs by helping connect students to Innovation Academy opportunities and resources. Fellows in this area develop skills in communication, teamwork, time-management and organization, relationship-building and event planning and organization, while supporting student-facing programs.

Engage in experiences that support collaboration with campus and external partners. Partnership Fellows build skills in communication and teamwork to contribute to applied learning initiatives that connect students with creative and innovative environments.
