Vacation Leave:

• Executives:  Accrue vacation at the rate of two days per month (16 hours).
• Exempt Staff:  Accrue vacation at the rate of 1.25 days per month (10 hours), with an increase of 2 hours per month for every three years worked.
• Non-Exempt Staff:  Accrue vacation at the rate of 1 day per month (8 hours), with an increase of 2 hours per month for every three years worked.
• Part-Time Staff: Do not accrue vacation leave. Work with supervisor to request time off.
• Faculty:  Do not accrue vacation leave.
• Accrual caps out at 16 hours per month.

*A maximum of 30 days (240 hours) may be carried forward from one vacation year to the next (January 1 to December 31). Approved vacation leave must be submitted through TIMS to Human Resources in a timely manner to provide employees with the correct leave balances on their pay stub. Click here to See the Policy

Sick Leave:

May be used for the illness or preventive care of the employee or immediate family members.

• Full-Time Staff:  Accrue sick leave at the rate of 1 day (8 hours) for each full calendar month worked.
• Faculty:  Accrue sick leave at the rate of 1 day (7 hours) for each full calendar month worked.
• Part-Time Staff:  Do not accrue sick leave. Work with supervisor to request time off.

*All  unused days may be carried forward from one year to the next. An employee may not use his or her sick leave longer than five months without applying for Long-term Disability and Social Security Disability.

Personal Leave:

• Full-Time Staff: All staff are allowed two days (16 hours) of personal leave per calendar year. They are prorated the first year you are hired.
• Full-Time Faculty:  All full-time faculty are allowed 1.5 days of personal leave for each full academic semester worked.
• Part-Time Staff and Faculty: Do not accrue personal leave. Work with supervisor to request time off.

*Note: Unused personal leave will not roll over to the next year.
