Important Update: Door Access Credential Changes at UVU
Utah Valley University is updating how door access is managed across campus to improve
security, consistency, and convenience. These changes affect how door access is issued
and used but do not change how ID cards work for other campus services.
This update applies only to door access. Current UVU ID cards will continue to work for:
A new UVU ID card with door access capability will be issued only when door access is required. If a role or course does not require door access, the standard UVU ID card will continue to be issued.
This new ID card combines door access and existing campus ID features into a single
credential.
New UVU ID Cards for Door Access
Door access will transition to new UVU ID cards, and these cards are now available
for pickup at Campus Connection. A new print will differentiate the door access ID
cards from the other ID cards.
Door access is not automatically added at pickup and must be requested by the Department Key Administrator.

Older Door Readers
Some buildings still use older door readers that support earlier ID card technology.
These readers are being phased out and replaced. Departments affected by these readers have been notified and are being contacted as part of the replacement and upgrade process.
How Door Access Is Added
Campus Connection does not assign door access—all access requests must go through the Department’s Key Administrator.
