Transfer GuideView Transfer Credit AwardedAs a transfer-friendly college, Utah Valley University works to utilize as much of your previous college credit as possible. When transferring to UVU, be sure to send official transcripts from all previous colleges or universities you attended to the Transfer Credit department. As soon as we receive your transcripts, we evaluate your previous coursework and post credit to your account.
To help you plan for your transfer to UVU and maximize your transferred credits, we’ve developed a transfer guide! This tool allows you to review how courses from other institutions transfer to UVU. You can filter by institution and by course to see the specific details of the courses you will transfer to UVU.
To ensure your previous coursework is evaluated for credit at Utah Valley University, you must submit official transcripts from all colleges or universities you’ve attended. Transcripts are considered unofficial if they are faxed, emailed as attachments, opened by the student, or forwarded from anyone other than the issuing institution.

Reviewing Awarded Credit
Once you have submitted your transcript to UVU, you can see how your credits were applied on myUVU. Open the “Records & Academics” tab and click the “Transfer Credit Awarded” button.

International transcripts must be evaluated by an approved foreign credential evaluating company. UVU’s preferred evaluating company is TEC (formerly SpanTran). If you have already had your international transcript evaluated by a foreign credential company, please reference the list of approved companies below to see if we can accept them.

Students who have taken accepted exams or programs may qualify for college credit based on their scores. Credit may be awarded if you participated in the IB program or have taken an AP exam or other accepted standardized test.
The credit awarded for standardized tests is determined by the Utah System of Higher Education (USHE). A course or test cannot be counted for credit if it has already been awarded though AP, CLEP, or other forms of credit by examination, or if it has been awarded through UVU coursework.
